Despite its relatively small size, Jamaica is an island of great ecological diversity. Known as the land of "Wood and Water", Jamaica is one of the richest islands in terms of endemic species in the Caribbean.
It is also home to a growing agro-forestry sector, which has recognized the importance and value of replanting nature's bounty. In keeping with its primary objectives, the Jamaica Tree Grower's Association is compiling a list of tree species, along with silviculture tips for public use in an effort to promote tree-planting activities island-wide.
